Online Universities Offering Free Education




Khan Academy 

The slogan of Khan Academy claims that anybody can learn anything. Khan Academy offers practice exercises, instructional videos, and a personalized learning dashboard that empower learners to study at their own outside of the classroom. There you can learn math, science, computer programming, history, art history, economics, and many other different subjects.

Code Academy
 
If you want to learn how to code you can take lessons from Codeacademy. The lessons they have are short, simple and easy to understand. They offer free lessons to anyone who wants to learn programming languages from HTML to CSS to Javascript to Python to PHP.

TED

Well, who haven't seen at least one TED Talk by today? TED Talks are videos that present a great idea in 18 minutes or less. Many of them are award-winning. Videos can be freely shared and reposted because the their goal is to share Ideas Worth Spreading — in various fields like science, technology, business, art and design — around the world. There are more than 2000 talks on various topics you can watch for free.

eDX

edX is another great option for free education online. It offers real classes from Science to Art and Technology, gathered from the best professors and universities. Becoming an edX student is simple and absolutely free and for absolutely everyone. You can also earn a Certificate of Achievement in there or just audit the course.

Udemy

There are more than 7 million student on Udemy right now, who are taking courses in almost every topic you can imagine. From Yoga and Photography to Programming. However, a lot of the courses cost from $10 to $200, but there are a lot of free courses as well.

Open Culture

Open Culture offes free online courses from leading universities of the world - Yale, Stanford, MIT, Harvard, Berkeley, Oxford and more. You can easily download their courses to your gadget. The great thing is that it all gathered in one place, and you don't have to browse and search each university’s own site to find what you need.

Academic Earth

Academic Earth provides courses by subject and college courses from best universities of the world. There are more than fifteen hundred videos from MIT, Stanford, Harvard, Princeton, Berkeley and Yale. They are adding more every day. Some of the videos are grouped into courses, which can contain from 4 to 50 lectures. All of them are totally free.

Alison

Every Alison course is standards-based and certified. They offer courses in business, technology, and health, but also includes language learning courses. Once you have completed your course, you can download your learner record as proof of your accomplishment. Or they can send you a certificate by post.
